Today, replacing halogen, xenon and LED bulbs is not permitted under current legislation.
In the EU, automotive parts must be certified as compliant with UNECE specifications in order to be used on public roads.
Current ECE certifications only apply to halogen, xenon and LED bulbs installed in new vehicles. However, there are no specific approval requirements or restrictions on the use of LED lamps on private roads.
It is less dangerous to drive with well-calibrated and properly adjusted LED lighting on your classic car than to drive with lamps that are too weak and ill-suited to modern road conditions.
