Bonnet pack with spare wheel for Mehari

The bonnet pack with spare wheel offered by Méhari Club Cassis is an all-in-one solution designed for Méhari owners who want to enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of their vehicle, in a rugged "off-roader" style similar to the Méhari 4x4.

This pack includes, first of all, a brand-new bonnet designed for the new-model Méhari (from July 1977 onwards). Made of thermoformed ABS/ASA plastic, it offers excellent resistance to impact and UV rays. This white, mass-tinted bonnet can be used as is or painted to match your Méhari's colour. Lastly, the kit includes a support bracket to be installed above the engine compartment and bolted onto the vehicle's frame.

Installing this pack is well within reach for any DIY enthusiast with basic tools. It starts with the removal of the original bonnet and fitting of the spare wheel support onto the frame. This support is bolted in place at the hinge points and directly onto the Méhari's roll bar. The spare wheel (sold separately) is mounted on this support and held in place by a locking system.

Final assembly includes fitting the new ventilated bonnet, making sure to install the side fasteners and elastic links. It's important to check that the bonnet closes properly, without excessive play, and that the spare wheel remains stable, even on uneven roads. A final test drive is recommended to ensure everything works in real driving conditions.
