2CV control switches: indicators and headlights, two essential safety features
The control switch is the control fitted beneath the
2CV’s steering wheel that allows the driver to operate certain functions without taking their hands off the wheel. On a 2CV, there are two distinct control switches: the 2CV indicator switch, situated to the left of the steering wheel, fitted with an audible warning device that alerts the driver if an indicator has been left on, and the
2CV headlight switch, to the right of the steering wheel, which allows the driver to switch between dipped and main beam headlights. Given that they are in constant use, these parts gradually wear out: electrical contacts oxidise, the return-to-neutral mechanism seizes up, or the plastic becomes brittle. Our range includes the 2CV indicator switch with buzzer in several colours (black, grey, brown, blue or chrome) to match the finish of your dashboard, as well as the headlight switch in the same colours. For a more targeted repair without replacing the entire switch assembly, we also offer the
2CV indicator switch on its own, in black or chrome, along with its mounting bracket. Please note that, although these control units work equally well on 2CVs with either a 6 V or 12 V electrical system, the indicator buzzer only works on models fitted with a 12 V
electrical system.
2CV Dashboard buttons: old and new models
In addition to the control switches besides the steering wheel, our range also includes all the buttons and switches for the dashboard: windscreen wiper button (rectangular old-style model, with pull tab), hazard warning light 2CV button, windscreen washer/starter button, brake fluid button,
2CV fog light button, as well as the switch cover to conceal unused sockets. Each button is available in a version faithful to the old model or the new model of 2CVs, depending on the year and specification of your vehicle, to ensure a consistent look across the entire
2CV dashboard.
Every 2CV switch or button in our catalogue has been selected for its compliance with original Citroën standards. They enable you to quickly find the exact part suited to your model and its generation, from a complete 2CV switch to the smallest dashboard button.
