Our website offers a very wide range of new Mehari soft tops in more than a dozen different colours, including our 3 best-sellers: black, navy blue and white. These different items are available as complete sets, with or without doors, to cover the entire passenger compartment and boot, as well as individually: left or right side, rear or roof soft top covers. The soft top sets also include a cover for the spare wheel positioned on the right-hand side of the rear bench seat and three elastics for securing the soft top.
Quality hoods for Citroën Mehari.
All our spare parts for Mehari soft tops (or hoods) are made in our upholstery workshop in Cassis and have the Origine France Garantie label.
Two ranges are available, depending on the vehicle: our original quality parts, exclusive to the 2CV Mehari Club Cassis, which boast unrivalled quality in terms of materials and durability, and our "Classic" or "MCC" parts, which are more attractively priced but still strictly comply with the manufacturer's specifications.
Our soft tops are made from waterproof 850g/m2 PVC fabric and, as with our 2CV hoods, have an anti-UV surface treatment to ensure that their colour is maintained over time. Our original models are also fitted with a special PVC for the windows, which is more resistant to impact, allowing more light and less susceptible to fogging. They also have seams made from very high-strength Tergal thread, an opening for adjusting the side mirrors, and are made in several pieces to fit the shape of the mounting bar structures even better.
How do you choose the right model of soft top for your Mehari?
First of all, you need to know the model year, because 3 different categories have been fitted to this car over the course of its history, each with its own specific structural bars and windscreen mountings. First of all, the
old model hoods, between May 1968 and July 1971. These cars were fitted with an iron windscreen frame, full-height PVC doors, a small spoiler at the rear of each side of the bodywork, a specific bonnet and front panel design, while a system of turn buttons rather than straps was used to attach the covers together. Then, from August 1971 to July 1987, the so-called
standard soft tops were fitted, in two versions. The first version had 4 straps on each side of the rear and a cut-out at the bottom of the soft top side covers so as not to cover the rear wings on either side of the body. The second version had 3 straps at the rear and no cut-outs at the sides. This version mainly concerned Mehari models produced between 1984 and 1987. These two versions of the 'standard' soft tops are all fitted to an
aluminium windscreen frame and require
standard fixing bars. Two types of doors can be fitted to them: 'full height' PVC doors or door tops (also called upper doors). The latter variant is for vehicles fitted with
ABS half doors on the lower section. The third and final category are the so-called
Azur soft top covers, which correspond to the Azur limited series of cars produced between April 1983 and July 1987, again with separate soft tops, fastening bar structures and windscreens.
Some more 'exotic' models are also available in this shop, such as the Touareg and panoramic versions, as well as the pickup roofs... In addition to all these different models, you'll also find on our site all the standard and
Azur structures and fixing bars, bearing in mind that all these different spare parts are removable if you want to drive in cabriolet mode and make the most of driving with your hair blowing in the wind but without a sun visor, because unlike the 2CV, the Mehari doesn't have one. You can find all this information on our
technical website (in French).
