Speedo cable gearbox pinion (except Méhari 4x4)

Cable drive sprocket for 2CV, Dyane or Méhari. It is mounted at the rear of the gearbox on its drive guide. The latter ensures that it is held securely in place and fits perfectly. All of these parts are covered by the speedometer cable end cap, which is held in place by its fixing screw through a slot on the guide.
In the event of an oil leak at this pinion, ensure that there is a vent hole in the top cover of your gearbox. If this is not the case, the 1970 Citroën technical documentation indicates that a 1.5 mm hole should be drilled in the cover on the front left-hand side.

This speedometer cable drive pinion is compatible with Citroën 2CV, Dyane and Méhari models.
It is mounted at the rear of the gearbox, directly on its drive guide, which ensures optimal support and a perfect fit for the entire assembly.

If oil is leaking from the gearbox pinion, it is important to check that there is a vent hole on the top cover of your gearbox.
If your gearbox does not have one, Citroën's technical documentation (1970) recommends drilling a 1.5 mm hole in the front left of the cover to ensure good ventilation and prevent internal pressure build-up, which can cause leaks.
