TREE AND BALLADEUR SECOND / THIRD

The 2nd and 3rd gear sliding sleeve is an internal gearbox component involved when shifting between these two gears. It is located inside the gearbox, at the 2nd and 3rd gear selection mechanism.

When the driver operates the gear lever, the gearbox linkage moves the corresponding selector fork. This slides the sleeve to engage 2nd or 3rd gear.

This part therefore works directly with several gearbox components, including the gears, shaft and selector fork. Precise positioning is important to ensure correct gear engagement.

Tip : before closing the gearbox permanently, operate the selection mechanism manually to check the engagement of 2nd gear, neutral and 3rd gear in succession. This check ensures that the sliding sleeve moves correctly and that the selector fork is properly positioned.
