Reconditioned 602cc engine

The 602cc engines are reconditioned in our workshops in Cassis, since 2016 we have been equipped with machine tools from the historic Citroën subcontractor. Produced from 1968, it equipped many models of the 2CV until the end of its production in 1990 (engine of the 2CV6 and the AK350 and AKS400 vans) as well as derivative vehicles like the Méhari and the Dyane. Fully reconditioned, this engine runs on 98 unleaded fuel.
Their initial warranty is 6 months, it is extended up to 24 months with the starter kit.

Our Cassis workshops bring many original parts back to life through state-of-the-art renovations. Baptized Reborn and identifiable by a specific pictogram, these original parts thus recycled contribute to our company's commitment to limit its environmental impact.

Here is a description that corresponds to the different operations carried out in our workshops for a renovation in the rules of the art:
Complete dismantling and cleaning
Recovery of the following parts and depending on their condition, preservation, rectification or scrap:
. crankshaft
. Camshaft
. Right & left crankcases
. Right and left cylinder heads
. Oil pump

Reassembly of the crankshaft and replacement with the following new parts:
. Connecting rod big end and small end rings
. Crankshaft bearings
. Timing gears


Camshaft refitting:
. Rectification of the shaft by subcontractor or replacement by new
. Replacement of bearings
. Distribution wheel control


Preparation / reassembly of the crankcase:
. Rework of all threads
. Use of net insert if necessary
. Correction of staves
. Grinding of tappets


Preparation / reassembly Cylinder head:
. Rework of all threads
. Use of net insert if necessary
. Rectification of seal surfaces / liner
. Replacement of valve guides
. Valve seat grinding
. Replacement of casing tubes if necessary
. Installation of new valves
. Lapping of valves


Engine reassembly:
. All new seals
. New piston ring liner assembly
. New oil cooler
. Timing timing


Engine test:
. By hand first to check that everything is in working order, then bench test
. Heating
. Diet
. Verification of leaks, noises, games

Terms of use:
For this type of engine, it is advisable to use multigrade or semi-synthetic 15W50 or 20W50 oils, synthetic oils are to be avoided.
In order to preserve your engine from corrosion, to maintain its performance and to reduce its consumption, it is advisable to use 98 unleaded petrol with an additive every 3 fill-ups.
The ignition and rocker arm adjustment should be checked on assembly.
It is essential to refer to the maintenance and warranty booklet provided when purchasing your 2CV6, Méhari, Dyane, or Ami engine.

Return old material:
As this is a STANDARD EXCHANGE part, it is essential that we have your used part. The deposit costs which are invoiced to you when ordering will be fully refunded to you as soon as you have sent us the used part.
Think, before his return, to drain the old engine and remove all the elements necessary for the assembly of the new one.
