Méhari bonnet retaining elastic (2 pieces)

This set of eight parts is used to secure the rear of the Méhari engine bonnet at the front wings.

It consists of:
. 2 metal loops to be fixed to the bonnet
. 2 plastic hooks to be fixed to the wings
. 2 double hooks
. 2 rubber rings (identical to the seat retaining straps)

The metal loops and plastic hooks must be attached to the bodywork using special split-skirt Pop rivets designed for ABS body panels.

Thanks to a revised positioning on the front wings and the use of the double hook, this assembly actually serves two purposes. In addition to holding the rear of the bonnet in place, as the previous system did, it also keeps the windscreen pressed against the bonnet when folded down.

To achieve this, the new folding windscreen fitted as standard from April 1971 onwards is equipped with the same metal loops as those mounted on the bonnet.

This set is designed for Méhari models originally equipped with the folding windscreen. This includes all Méhari models from April 1971 onwards, including the Méhari 4x4.

If required, it can also be adapted to Méhari models produced before April 1971, provided the corresponding mounting holes are drilled.
